ZE500G/ZE550G Large Excavator

Designed for heavy earth excavation, quarrying and loading sand, gravel and other construction materials, ZOOMLION's large crawler excavators are powered by 277 kW Cummins engines. The two excavators have operating weights of 51,000 kg and 53,500 kg, with bucket capacity ranges of 2.65–3.3 m³ and 2.85–3.6 m³, respectively.

Different working conditions call for different attachments. Rock buckets are used for rock excavation, reinforced buckets provide additional structural strength for demanding digging tasks, and earthwork buckets serve general soil excavation. Hydraulic breakers perform breaking operations where bucket excavation alone is unsuitable.

  • Cummins engine with high-pressure common rail technology
    The six-cylinder Cummins engine has an 11.8 L displacement and uses high-pressure common rail fuel injection technology. A new electronic control system optimizes engine performance to improve fuel economy.
  • High-efficiency air filtration system
    A high-efficiency air filter with a large dust-holding capacity works with an oil-bath air pre-cleaner to protect the engine against airborne contaminants. An additional cyclone-type air pre-cleaner can be installed to further improve impurity separation in heavily dust-laden working environments.
  • Three-stage fuel filtration and cooling
    A three-stage fuel filtration system removes contaminants from the fuel, while a fuel cooler helps regulate fuel temperature. By maintaining cleaner fuel and more controlled fuel temperatures, these measures are designed to support engine operating conditions, extend service life and reduce fuel consumption.
  • Reinforced boom and arm cross-sections
    The boom and arm on these ZOOMLION large excavators use larger cross-sectional designs, with their total cross-sectional areas increased by 9% and 6%, respectively. The enlarged sections provide greater capacity to withstand structural stresses during demanding excavation and loading operations.
  • Strengthened working equipment
    The front and rear mounting supports of the boom and arm use integrally cast steel components to reduce the risk of weld cracking. The boom also incorporates a one-piece, 25 mm-thick lower cover plate to increase structural strength during heavy-duty operation.
