ZOOMLION piling machinery is used as foundation equipment to help build the foundations for buildings, bridges, and urban rail lines by drilling or excavating below the surface, where the structure needs support. Based on the project and soil conditions, that work may involve a pile foundation, bored piles, or a diaphragm wall. Bored piles and diaphragm walls require different excavation equipment, while the ground conditions determine whether the sides of the hole or trench need support during foundation construction.

ZOOMLION offers rotary drilling rigs, hydraulic diaphragm wall grabs, and full casing drilling rigs for these foundation methods. Rotary drilling rigs bore into the ground to create the holes for bored piles; once drilling is complete, the holes can receive reinforcement and concrete to form the foundation piles. Hydraulic diaphragm wall grabs dig the trenches where diaphragm walls will be built. Full casing drilling rigs work differently as they advance a casing into the ground to support the sides of the borehole during drilling. The casing keeps soil from falling into the hole as drilling continues, especially where the ground is unstable.
