Stiff Boom Cranes ZLT4000V5

Stiff boom cranes are truck-mounted loader cranes that lift, move, and load or unload cargo using a rigid, straight telescopic boom. The boom sections slide in and out to adjust the reach while remaining aligned, rather than fold at articulated joints as they do on knuckle boom cranes. ZOOMLION stiff boom cranes handle loads such as construction materials and equipment, both during loading and unloading and when placing them at the worksite. Since they are mounted on cargo trucks, the same vehicle can transport the cargo and unload it at the site.

Crane

  • The main boom on ZOOMLION stiff boom cranes (ZLT4000V5) extends to 22 m and provides a maximum lifting height of 23.5 m. An 8 m outrigger span provides a broad base of support for lifting.
  • High-strength steel plates and a U-shaped boom cross-section reduce structural weight while improving lifting capacity and fuel economy.
  • Two telescopic cylinders extend and retract the boom, and the second boom section can extend independently. The design improves the ability to extend the boom under load and lift heavier loads at medium to long boom lengths.
  • The hydraulic system uses a piston pump and a piston motor to improve operating efficiency and extend component service life.
  • The standard hydraulic oil cooler helps keep the oil from overheating during extended operation.
  • To ensure safe lifting operations, the overwinding warning signals when the hook gets too close to the boom tip, and the load moment limiter restricts crane movements that would exceed its lifting capacity.
  • An optional auxiliary winch provides high line pull and faster handling of light loads.

Truck Chassis and Cab

  • The complete truck-mounted loader crane measures 12 m long, 2.55 m wide, and 3.88 m high.
  • The truck has a New D1 T712G cab with factory-installed air conditioning and an air-suspension driver’s seat to help absorb road bumps. From the driver’s seat, the multifunction steering wheel provides access to several controls, while the LCD instrument panel shows driving information.
  • Satellite positioning and a dash cam provide location information and a record of the journey. The truck also has LED daytime running lights and side and rear guards.
  • Road travel relies on a 350 hp Yuchai engine paired with a Fast Gear 10-speed transmission. The engine complies with China VI emissions standards, and the truck has 11.00R20 18PR steel-cord tires.
  • Front and rear axle ratings are 5.5 tons and 10 tons, respectively. The chassis has a full-length, three-layer frame beam measuring 280 mm.
  • Distances between successive axles are 2,150 mm, 4400 mm, and 1350 mm, and the vehicle has a curb weight of 20860 kg.
  • The cargo body measures 8.3 m long and 2.45 m wide, with 0.6 m-high sides to accommodate materials and equipment during transport.
