ZOOMLION flat-top tower cranes have a horizontal jib and a topless design, which means they have no raised tower head or supporting tie bars above the jib. ZOOMLION flat-top tower cranes are mainly used for lifting rebar, precast components, steel structural components, and other building materials during construction. They lift materials to the required height, then move them across the work area to where they need to be installed, within the crane’s working radius.
Flat-top tower cranes, unlike conventional tower cranes, don't have a tower head and supporting tie bars above the jib. There are therefore fewer parts to assemble during erection, remove during dismantling, and transport between sites. Flat-top tower cranes are also suitable for multi-crane operation on high-rise construction projects and urban jobsites where space is limited. When two tower cranes have overlapping working areas, the higher jib needs enough clearance to pass over the lower crane. Without a tower head above the lower jib, there is less structure in the way, so the cranes do not need as much difference in height. The location and height of each crane must leave enough space for its jib to pass above or below neighboring cranes without contact.
